Stamens:

  1. The stamens are the male part of a flower.
  2. Stamen is made up of anther and filament.
  3. The anther produces pollen grains which contain the male sex cell also called as the male gamete.
  4. During pollination the pollen grains reach the stigma and then male gamete reaches the ovary where fertilization occurs.

Carpels:

  1. The carpel is the female part of a flower.
  2. It is made up of style, stigma, and ovary.
  3. The ovary contains ovules where the egg cells also called the female gametes are produced.
  4. The egg cells fuse with the male gamete to lead to the formation of the zygote.
