What part of the blood carries minerals, sugar and other foods to the body's cells?
Blood is composed of plasma and several kinds of cells. These blood cells consist of erythrocytes (RBCs), leukocytes (WBCs), and thrombocytes (platelets). And each component of the blood has a specific function. Plasma helps maintain blood pressure and regulates body temperature. It contains a complex mix of substances used by the body to perform important functions. These substances include minerals, salts, hormones and proteins.
Red blood cells- carry oxygen.
White blood cells - are cells of the immune system.
Platelets - help in blood clotting.
