What separation technique is used to separate a mixture of acetone and water?
Distillation
Miscible liquids are those capable of mixing in any ratio without separation of two phases. Distillation is used for the separation of components of a mixture containing two miscible liquids that have a large difference in their boiling points. The liquid with lower boiling point evaporates at first and the vapours of it can be collected at the nozzle. The vapours are then condensed to liquid into a separate flask. In the case of acetone and water, the boiling point of acetone is lower so it will get evaporated first and the vapours get collected in the nozzle which is then condensed to liquid into another flask.
