Solution

Evaporation: The conversion of a liquid state into a vapor or gaseous state at room temperature without attaining its boiling point is known as evaporation.

The evaporation method will be used to separate sodium chloride from its solution in water. We will understand the method of separation by an activity.

Activity:

  1. Take a homogenous solution of sodium chloride and water in a china dish.
  2. Put the content of the china dish on the bunsen burner and heat it.
  3. The water content will evaporate and we are left with a residual content in a china dish i.e. sodium chloride.

Hence, the evaporation method will be used to separate sodium chloride from its solution in water.
