The correct option is A Hyder Ali attacked Arcot.
With the help from Nizam of Hyderabad, Hyder Ali of Mysore attacked Arcot in 1767 CE. The king of Arcot already had an alliance in place with the British; this incident triggered the First Anglo-Mysore War. Both the sides suffered a few setbacks. Haider reached till Madras, which drove the British into a panic mode; they were forced to enter into an agreement - the Madras Treaty - in 1769 CE.
