Open in App
Solution

Human growth hormone:

  1. The human growth hormone is secreted by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland.
  2. The secretion of the HGH hormone increases in response to physical and emotional stress.
  3. The secretion of the HGH hormone is inhibited by the secretion of a hypothalamic neurohormone called somatostatin.
  4. The secretion of HGH is also inhibited by insulin-like GF (growth factors) which are generated when body tissues are exposed to GH itself.
  5. The over secretion of HGH stimulates abnormal growth of the body leading to giant height.
  6. The low secretion of HGH stimulates stunted growth leading to dwarf height.
