what type of crops are grown in saline soil?

Open in App
Solution

Different plants show different salt tolerance in their course of development. For eg. Sugar beet is a species that shows fairly high salt tolerance during the vegetative growth and is sensitive to saline conditions during seed germination in comparison to corn which is more sensitive during growth phase. Similarly the salt tolerance of barley is more sensitive to salinity during the vegetative growth phases.Beardless wildrye (Leymus triticoides) can be grown in salt affected or saline soil.
