Holocaust is a Greek word which means sacrifice by fire. In modern history it is associated with the the organized, bureaucratic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of around six million Jews by the Nazi command and its collaborators.
  1. information about Nazi practices trickled out of Germany during the last years of regime.
  2. the Jews wanted the world to remember the atrocities and sufferings they had endeavoured during Nazi killing operations.they also called it holocaust.
  3. the ghetto inhabitants wrote diaries, kept notebooks and created archives in memory of holocaust.
  4. inhabitants of warsaw of ghetto collected documents and placed them in three milk cans along with other containers.
  5. these containers were buried in the cellars of the building in 1943.
  6. the can was discovered in 1950.
  7. the memory of holocaust live on in memors fiction,documentaries , poetry ,memorial and museums in many parts of the world
