Rapid decline in the demand for goods from Britain:
As per the statistics recorded during the movement, there was a significant decline in the import of cotton goods, salt, toys, chinaware, shoes, perfume and leather products. The decline in the sale of foreign goods, though strong, did not have a lasting impact.
Rise of indigenous industries:
The movement gave a push for the establishment of indigenous industries:
The Banga Laxmi Cotton Mill and the Mohini Mill came up during the movement.
The Bengal Chemical and Pharmaceutical Company was set up by Sir P C Ray.
Tata Iron and Steel Company, popularly known as TISCO, was established by Jamsetji Tata.
Apart from these, Swadeshi Stores was started by Rabindranath Tagore.
The National Soap Factory was started by Dr. Nilratan Sarkar.
Establishment of Indian Educational Institutions:
The repressive measures of the government gave way to the formation of societies like the Anti Circular Society and the Dawn Society.
Indian educational institutions like the first National School in Rangpur, National Council of Education, Bengal National College, and the Bengal Technical Institute were set up.
Growth of National Literature and Culture:
Patriotic songs by Rabindranath Tagore, Rajani Kanta, D. L. Roy and Mukunda Das inspired the people.
Writings of Aurobindo Ghose and creations by Abanindranath Tagore, Asit Kumar Halder and Nandlal Bose under the encouragement of Sister Nivedita kept the passion alive towards the movement.
The movement led to the revival of national festivals, melas and yatras to spread Swadeshi ideas.

The movement attracted participation of people from all walks of life. From farmers to the aristocracy, dared to challenge the law laid by the government.
