Questions: The Upanishadic discussions tried to answer questions and doubts related to life and death. They also tried to find the logic behind performing sacrifices.

Conclusions: Many Upanishadic thinkers believed that atman is a permanent thing unaffected by life and death. Moreover, they felt that the atman and brahman were ultimately one and the same.
Shankaracharya, a well-known Upanishadic thinker later developed the ideas of the Upanishads.
