What will be the cost of painting the four walls of a room with length, width and height of 5m, 3m and 8m respectively? The room has one door and one window.
I. Cost of painting is Rs 2.50 per square metre.
II. Area of the window of 2.25 sq metre is half of the area of the door.
III. Area of the room is 15 sq metre.

The correct option is D Only III
From the information given in question and in Statement II, we have
Area of wall =(5×3+3×8+8×5) - Area of door - Area of window.
=79 m24.5 m22.25 m2=72.25 m2
Now, from Statement I,
Cost of painting = 72.25 × 2.50 = Rs 180.62
Hence, Statement III is redundant.
