Solution

Dimensions of a room
=12.5 m×9m×7 m
Total surface area of the walls
= 2(l+b)×h=2(12.5+9)×7 m2
= 2×21.5×7=301.0 m2
Area of 2 doors = 2×(2.5×1.2)m2
= 2×3.00=6m2
Area of 4 windows = 4×(1.5×1)m2
= 4×1.5=6m2
Remaining area of the walls
= 301 - ( 6 + 6) m2
= 301 - 12 = 289 m2
Rate of painting the walls = Rs. 3.50 per m2
Total cost = Rs. 3.50
Total surface area of the walls
= 2(l+b)×h=2(12.5+9)×7 m2
= 2×21.5×7=301.0 m2
Area of 2 doors = 2×(2.5×1.2)m2
= 2×3.00=6 m2
Area of 4 windows = 4×(1.5×1)m2
4×1.5=6 m2
Reamining area of the walls
= 301(6+6) m2
= 30112=289 m2
Rate of painting the walls = Rs. 3.50 per m2
Total cost = Rs. 3.50 × 289 = Rs. 1011.50
