Solution
The deficiency of Ca+ ions in the blood causes a condition called hypocalcemia. The hormone disorder hypoparathyroidism may also cause calcium deficiency. The symptoms of hypocalcemia include numbness, tingling sensation in the perioral area or in the fingers and toes. Complications of hypocalcemia can be life-threatening, and if the condition goes untreated, it eventually leads to death.
