If the cell sap of root hair contains high concentration of ions then more water will enter the root cells by osmosis. (1Mark)
This is because due to greater amount of ion the root cells become hypertonic with respect to the surrounding. (1Mark)
Hence, they absorb more water from the surroundings to balance the concentration on both the sides. (1Mark)
