A genetic mutation normally alters information conveyed by a gene that alters the messages. Chromosomal mutation only alters the number of position of existing genes. They may involve modification in the morphology of chromosome for a change in the number of chromosomes. In the deletion or addition of a chromosome, it leads to various diseases like cry du chat syndrome, Klinefelter's syndrome, down syndrome etc.
