Step 1: Drift velocity in initial case
Relation between Current i and Drift velocity v is given by:
i=neAv

V=ineA ....(1)

Step 2: Drift velocity in final case
FInally when current and area A are doubled.
i=2i and A=2A

So, New drift velocity v
v=2ine.2A=ineA ....(2)

From equation (1) and (2)
v=v

Therefore there is no change in drift velocity.
