Bhagat Singh born on 28 September 1907 was an Indian nationalist considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. He was trialed and sentenced to death in the Lahore Conspiracy Case in which he killed the DSP Saunders to avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai. Singh along with Rajguru and Sukhdev was hanged on 23 March 1931 in the Lahore jail. the bronze statue of Bhagat Singh was installed in the Parliament of India on 15 August 2008 to celebrate India's day of Independence, a cause to which Bhagat Singh had dedicated his life.
