It is because of the double displacement reaction.

Following is the chemical equation:

2NaOHaq+CuSO4aqNa2SO4aq+CuOH2s(Sodium(Copper(Sodium(Copperhydroxide)sulphate)sulphate)hydroxide){precipitated}

Now we have to separate the precipitate of Copper hydroxide from the solution of Sodium sulphate.

  • The separation of precipitated Copper hydroxide from the mixture of Sodium sulphate.Filtration:
  • The precipitate formed by copper hydroxide can be filtered and get separated from the solution.
  • While the soluble sodium sulphate will present in the solution in the soluble form.
