Open in App
Solution

Cytokinins :

  1. They are phytohormones that promote cytokinesis, and cell division in plant shoots and roots.
  2. They participate in cell differentiation and growth and influence axillary bud growth, apical dominance, and even leaf senescence.
  3. Cytokinin is produced in root apical meristems (tip of roots), move upward and travel up the stem via xylem.
  4. Example: kinetin, zeatin, and benzyl adenine.
