Kidney:

1. The kidneys are a pair of bean-shaped, reddish-brown organs about the size of a fist. They are covered by the renal capsule(a thin membranous sheath that covers the outer surface of each kidney).

Location:

1. The kidneys are located just below the stomach, one on either side of the vertebral column.

Functions :

1. Elimination of toxic substances.
2. Regulation of water balance.
3. Regulation of blood pressure.
4. Excretion of nitrogenous waste products.
5. Helps in osmoregulation
