Open in App
Solution

Isogametes:

  1. The gametes which exhibit structural similarities in the same species but different sexes (type) are referred to as Isogametes
  2. And the sexual reproduction method involving Isogametes is referred to as Isogamy.
  3. Isogemetes can not be distinguished as male gametes and female gametes due to the same morphology.
  4. Hence instead of male and female, they are referred to as mating types.
  5. These two different mating types fuse together to form embryos and give rise to the new plants.
  6. And Isogametes can be seen in Unicellular and multicellular organisms like Algae, fungi, etc.
  7. Examples of Algae having Isogamets: Ulothrix, Spirogyra, etc.
