Vacuum packing Food preservation is the process to slow down the food spoilage and prolong the shelf life of food. Some of the common food preservation methods are-
Salting : Salting is done by using common salt. Sodium chloride used as common salt absorbs moisture from food, making it dry and inhabitable for microbes.
Pasteurisation :- During pasteurisation, milk is first heated to about 70 degrees Celsius for 15 to 30 seconds and then suddenly chilled. Sudden chilling of milk is done to prevent the growth of microbes.
Drying or “dehydrating” food is a method of food preservation that removes moisture from the food so that bacteria, yeast and molds cannot grow.
Vacuum packing :-The food contents are sealed in an airtight container to prevent the growth of microbes.
