Question
Which bulb will glow with maximum brightness in case bulbs of different wattages are joined in series?

Solution
Resistance of bulb
R
=
V

P
And Power,
P
=
i
2
R
In series connection, same current flow through all the bulbs.
So, brightness is directly proportional resistance and thus is inversely proportional to power of bulb.
Thus, bulb having the least power will glow with maximum brightness.
