Deoxygenated blood or also known as venous blood, is the blood that has a low concentration of oxygen compared to that of the blood leaving the lungs, i.e., oxygenated blood. Once the exchange of gases takes place in tissues and organs, the oxygenated blood converts into deoxygenated blood.
