Solution

Enzyme:

  1. An enzyme is a biological catalyst and is almost always a protein.
  2. It speeds up the rate of a specific chemical reaction in the cell.
  3. Enzymes are mostly made up of proteins.

Non-proteinaceous enzyme:

  1. A minority of enzymes are RNA in nature.
  2. Such catalytic RNA molecules are called as ribozymes.
  3. Ribozymes are found in the ribosome where they join amino acids together to form protein chains.
