Which factor would not affect the solubility of sugar in water?
Grinding the sugar to make it finer
Stirring the water and sugar
Solubility is the maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved in the given amount of a solvent at a given temperature. Grinding sugar or stirring it makes the sugar to dissolve more quickly in the solution but it does not affect the solubility, i.e., the amount of sugar that can be dissolved remains the same.
For most substances, solubility increases with an increase in temperature. And it happens for sugar too. On increasing the temperature, we can dissolve more sugar in the same amount of water.
When salt is added to water, it dissolves and takes up space. So, the amount of sugar that can be dissolved decreases.
