Solution

The correct option is C 𝛃-carotene
Professor Potrykus and his team genetically engineered rice to produced 𝛃-carotene, which is a precursor of vitamin A and due to 𝛃-carotene, the rice is golden yellow in colour. Hence, it has been named as golden rice. So by including golden rice in the regular meals, vitamin A deficiency can be prevented.
