Sprinkler system or drip irrigation is the best method of irrigation for sandy soil because the sandy soil has low water storing capacity and has high infiltration rate, thus they require continuous and frequent irrigation systems with small irrigation applications for it.Thus, sprinkler or drip irrigation is best for the sandy soil than surface irrigation.
