Maharshi Panini wrote Ashtadhyayi the work on Sanskrit grammar. This work was written around the 5th to 6th BCE. This work is considered to have set the linguistic standards for Sanskrit literature. This work contains 4,000 Sanskrit sutras. His work was the main source for British and American linguists to study and research about Sanskrit literature and other Indian literature.
