Solution
Isotopes
Isotopes are the atoms of same chemical element with different mass numbers.
Examples: Hydrogen has three isotopes. They are; protium (), deuterium () and tritium ().
All of them has one proton but their mass numbers are different.
Being atoms of the same chemical element, they have same chemical properties.
Protium ()
It is the most abundant isotope of hydrogen in nature as its abundance is 99.9% and that of deuterium is 0.1%. Tritium is present only in trace amounts.
