IgG antibodies is the most abundant antibodies in the body fluids. It fights against bacterial and viral infection. IgM antibodies is the first antibodies that is produced to acts against foreign bodies or antigens. It is the first antibodies produced during acute infection. Hence, high concentration of IgM antibodies in the blood provide evidence of an active infection. However, high concentration of IgG provide evidence that the person has had infection in the past. IgA antibodies is seen in high concentration in mucous membrane lining gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, saliva, tears. IgE antibodies is associated with the allergic reactions.
