Which of the following are prokaryotes?
Bacteria
Blue green algae
All living cells can be divided into two groups - prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Viruses lack cellular machinery and are living only inside their host. Hence, viruses do not fall into any of these groups. Prokaryotes are characterised by their lack of well-defined nucleus and membrane bound organelles. All bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella typhi, blue-green algae etc. are prokaryotes. Amoeba has a well-defined nucleus. Therefore, it is a unicellular, eukaryotic organism.
