Which of the following are prokaryotes?
Bacteria
Blue green algae
All living cells is divided into two groups - prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Viruses lack cellular machinery and can survive only inside a host. Hence, viruses do not fall into any of these groups. Prokaryotes are characterised by their lack of a well-defined nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. All bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella typhi, etc. are prokaryotes. Amoeba has a well-defined nucleus. Therefore, it is a unicellular, eukaryotic organism.
