Question

Which of the following blood cells do not contain any pigment nor nucleus?
  1. Basophils
  2. Platelets
  3. Eosinophils
  4. Neutrophils

Solution

The correct option is B Platelets
Platelets are extremely small and disc-shaped structure which are involved in blood clotting. About 2.5 - 4 lakh platelets are present per mm3 of blood. They possess almost every characteristic of blood cells, except that, they are both enucleated and colourless.
Neutrophils, basophils and eosinophils on the other hand are different types of WBCs.
