Solution

The correct options are
A

Phenolphthalein

C

Methyl orange

D

Turmeric

Indicators are substances that help us to distinguish between acids and alkalis through colour change. Methyl orange gives a pale pink colour in an acidic medium and pale yellow colour in a basic medium. Phenolphthalein becomes colourless in an acidic medium and pink in a basic medium. Turmeric gives yellow colour in an acidic medium and red colour in a basic medium. Methyl chloride cannot act as an indicator because it does not show any colour change in an acidic or a basic medium.
