Solution

The correct option is B

Var Arkel – de Boer Process

From the given options, Baeyer’s process is used to concentrate Red Bauxite. It is a chemical leaching process which is carried out in an autoclave.

Levigation is the same as gravity separation, which helps concentrate heavy ores like Cassiterite and Haematite. What do think happens during smelting? The output of the smelting process is in most cases molten metal. However, the important thing to remember is that during smelting reduction of the ore takes place and also slag is formed.

By means of eliminating the incorrect options we are left with van Arkel-de Boer process which we will study later. For now, just grasp the idea that in refining, crude or impure metal is converted into pure metal.
