Solution

The correct option is A NaCl
Both C and Cl are non-metal. As two non-metal atoms form a covalent bond, C-Cl covalent bond is formed. There are 4 C-Cl bonds in CCl₄ molecule.

Although C-Cl bond is polar, CCl₄ molecule is non-polar because CCl₄ is a symmetrical molecule and the dipole moments of the four C-Cl bonds cancel each other.

The same is with CH4.

The classic case of ionic bonding, the sodium chloride molecule forms by the ionization of sodium and chlorine atoms and the attraction of the resulting ions.

Hence, A is the correct option.
