Which of the following correctly explains extinction?
Death of the last individual of the species.
Extinction is defined as the end of an organism or of a group of organisms, normally a species. The moment of extinction is considered when the last individual of the species die, although their capacity to breed and recover may have been lost much before this point. For example, Dodo birds, Sabre-toothed cat, Baiji white dolphin etc. The species which are on the verge of extinction are named under endangered. If all the individuals of an endangered species die, then this species becomes extinct.
