The correct option is C Ringworm
Out of the four options given three are bacterial diseases (cholera, dysentery and pneumonia) and one is a fungal disease (ringworm). Fungus can stay in the objects used by the infected person for a long time, as they grow well in the room temperature and can spread the disease. So option c is correct.
Ringworm:
It is a very common skin infection caused by fungi like Microsporum, Trichophyton or Epidermophyton.
The infection initially appears as red patches on the affected areas that spreads to different areas of the body affecting scalp, nails, feet, groin and beard.
Transfer occurs from one person to another via contact with skin or by sharing the articles like combs, bath towels, nail cutters or other such products.
Cholera:
It is a bacterial disease caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. This disease is transmitted by contaminated foods and water and found in places.
Pneumonia:
It is a respiratory disorder which leads to acute infection and inflammation of alveoli. The causative agent of pneumonia is Streptococcus pneumoniae. The bacteria attacks the lungs and multiplies there, resulting in filling the alveoli with mucus and pus. It spreads through air droplets.
Dysentery:
Bacillary dysentery is caused by the bacteria Shigella. It is an intestinal infection. It spreads due to contaminated food and water.
