The correct option is B Human females are not born with bored ear pinna although they have been bored for thousands of years
Lamarck in his theory stated that during the lifetime of an organism, new characters are developed or acquired due to internal vital force (all organs used more by organisms have a tendency to grow more) and continuous changes in the environment. These acquired characters are inherited in the offspring. The fact given in option b could not be explained by this theory and develops suspicions in Lamarckism. Human females are not born with bored ear pinna although they have been bored for thousands of years. If Lamarckism is true, then the offspring of human females with bored pinna must be born with bored pinna.
The other three options i.e., a, c and d favour the theory of Lamarckism and could be explained by this theory.
Option a: During times when the food was scarce, driven by an inner need, the short necked ancestors of giraffes stretch their necks to get the leaves higher up in the tree. The use of the neck changes the animal’s heredity accordingly. After many generations of such behaviour, all descendants have developed much longer necks.
Option c: Deer developed strong limbs and streamlined bodies to become good runners and protect themselves from their predators. These characters were inherited to the offsprings and acquired in due course of time.
Option d: Water birds like ducks developed their webbed feet by constant stretching of the skin of their feet for skimming the water surface in swimming. Later, the webbed feet became an acquired character in water birds.
