Lewis acid is the electron pair acceptor.
In AlCl3 the central atom Al has vacant d orbitals so it can accept pair of electrons , so it is a Lewis acid. PCl3, NCl3 and AsCl3 are electron rich species hence they do not act as Lewis acid.
