Solution

The correct option is D All of these
1) Green Revolution, initiated by Dr. Norman Borlaug, has increased crop production in developing countries like India, Southeast Asia, Nepal etc., where food shortage became a severe crisis.
2) Green revolution involves increased deployment of technologies including pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers as well as new breeds of high-yielding crops in order to meet the increasing demand of food globally.
3) Synthetic fertilisers used to increase crop production lead to the release of certain toxic impurities like cadmium, lead, arsenic and even uranium. These elements released into soil cause pollution of underwater reservoirs, on leaching through the soil layers.
4) Pesticides like endosulfan and DDT have been found to contaminate air, water and soil and in turn, cause cancers, endocrine or hormonal dysfunctions in humans and animals who come in contact with the contaminated sources.
