Solution

The correct option is C

(x2+2x)2=x4+3+4x2

Consider (2x+3)2=3x25x.
2x2+3+26x=3x25xx2(5+26)x3=0,
which is a quadratic equation as it is in the quadratic form ax2+bx+c=0,a0.

Consider 2xx2=x2+5.
2x22x+5=0,
a quadratic equation as it is in the quadratic form ax2+bx+c=0,a0.

Let us take (x2+2x)2=x4+3+4x2.
x4+4x2+4x3=x4+3+4x24x33=0,
a cubic equation as it is not of the form ax2+bx+c=0,a0. Thus, the equation is not quadratic.

Lastly, let us consider x2+5x=10. This represents a quadratic equation as it is in the quadratic form ax2+bx+c=0,a0.
