The correct options are
B Officers were required to pay from their pocket and maintain a number of soldiers.
D The officers at the highest levels maintained somewhere around 5000.
To maintain a strong army, Akbar introduced a special system known as Mansabdari system under which each officer was required to maintain a number of soldiers and this number ranged between 10 and 12000. Officers at the lower level maintained about 10 soldiers. These officers were paid salaries from which they spent on the soldiers under them. Princes were tasked with the responsibility of maintaining 10000 to 12000 men.
