Solution

The correct option is C

Nucellus

In a cross section of the megasporangium or an ovule, it is attached to the placenta of the ovary by a stalk. This stalk is called the funicle and the region at which the funicle is attached to the ovule is called the hilum. Inside an ovule is the actual megasporangium tissue called the nucellus. This important central tissue is protected by one or two layers called the integuments. Nucellus is called as megasporangium tissue because it is the nucellar tissue cell which differentiates into the megaspore mother cell which undergoes meiotic division to form four megaspore cells. In the four megaspore cells one develops into the female gmatophyte i.e the embryo sac. Hence the nucellar tissue is called as the actual megasporamgium tissue.
