Which of the following is true about T-cells
T-lymphocytes or T-cells, do not themselves produce antibodies. They help B-cells in the process of recognition of pathogen proteins. This, in turn, helps B-cells produce antibodies that can recognize and bind to specific proteins produced by the infectious agent. Unlike B-cells that recognizes antigen released or surface bound to the pathogen, T-cells recognize host cells that have been invaded by the pathogen, that is they recognize intracellular pathogens. The T-cell based immunity that targets the cells and the intracellular pathogen is known as ‘Cellular Immunity’.
