Froth floatation is a surface chemistry based selective concentration process generally applicable for dressing or concentrating sulphide ores. In other words, only the ore particles are wetted by the froth whereas the gangue particles are not. Once wetted, the ore particles rise to the top and they could easily be skimmed off.
