The salt which gives borax bead best is the Borax Na2B4O7.10H2O

Borax-bead Test:
Borax reacts with certain metal salts such as Ni2+, Co2+, Cr3+, Cu2+, Mn2+ basically transition metal cations, etc., to form colored metaborates. BO2 is known as metaborate. B2O3 is glassy transparent bead.
Cr(BO2)2 is green in colour while Cu(BO2)2 is blue in colour.
The colour of the metaborates can be used to identify the metallic ions (cations) in its salts.
