The elements or compounds, which occur naturally in the earth's crust, are known as minerals.

Ores are minerals in which metals can be profitably extracted from it.

So, all ores are minerals, but all minerals need not be ores.

For example, aluminium metal is found in both cryolite and bauxite. But aluminium metal is extracted only from bauxite in a convenient and profitable way. So, bauxite is an ore of aluminium.
