During electrolysis of copper sulphate solution with platinum electrodes, at anode, oxygen is evolved from water, and at cathode, copper is deposited.

During electrolysis of dilute aqueous sulfuric acid solution, water dissociates to form hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen is evolved at cathode and oxygen is evolved at anode.

During electrolysis, one species is reduced and other species is oxidized. Thus all electrolytic reactions are redox reactions.
